2020 brings the 10 year anniversary of Oshun Yoga Retreats. 10 years of service to people facilitating growth, finding adventure, discovering culture & self exploration.
It has come to my attention that what we offer is not a retreat... it’s work, it’s getting out of the comfort bubble, it takes a lot to get there, it’s work to bring the lessons home & keep them alive in the daily life. Oshun Yoga, nicknamed Oyo, began as a wellness center in the small town of Trinidad where the majestic Redwoods meet the Sea.
It organically became a temple of the Orisha Oshun, a Yoruban deity of many things, but what rang true to me is that she provides nurturing, deep sense of love & awareness of life’s beauty. As the rivers flow to the sea Oshun shows you a place of deep inner peace. To flow in the present moment, as you listen to the subtle underground current of life. I realize this is no longer Oshun Yoga Retreats & I am not the title of yoga teacher. "ultimately that which you seek is in your own being." Now I present to you OYO Journeys & I am your host, a Healing Artist. Although I am the guide for these journeys, ultimately those who attend come to find you are On Your Own or OYO, to actualize the depths of it.
We have interconnection, lessons together & support thru it all, but ultimately that which you seek is in your own being. Our journeys are full of lessons/concepts/practices for your spiritual tool box & time away from IT all. I’ve noticed the participants come to realize that you are On Your Own. No one else can fix it, no magic guru or session will make the changes you want to see, you are those changes. You in that beautiful sacred living temple of your body. You that divine being with a soul born from the cosmos, you that energy full of life, blood, emotion & consciousness. Everything we seek outwardly is usually sought after because the seeds of that which we yearn for are already planted in our hearts. We often need the right fertilizer (guides, lessons, experiences) to help it sprout. Then the continuing of these works On Your Own O.Y.O. are when the blossoms awaken. -Karilily
